Conventional Contact Lenses

Conventional Contact Lenses

Conventional Contact Lenses work to correct vision exactly like prescription glasses except that they are worn close to the eye.

There are two types of contact lenses and these are orthokeratology (also known as Ortho-K) lenses and Plano (decorative) lenses. Ortho-K is actually a lens fitting procedure wherein specially made RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) contact lenses are used to change the shape of the cornea to better focus the light onto the retina, improving focus.

Plano or decorative contact lenses are not used for vision correction and are only for changing the appearance of the eyes. These lenses are also known as zero-power or non-corrective contact lenses.
